Why do you need to protect your generator, and build sort of standby generator enclosure? First, it comes with environmental reason actually, meaning that you have to protect your ears from the noise of the standby generator. The generator enclosure is good to prevent the sound pollution. Next, the generator enclosure is important to protect your generator durability. We all usually place the generator out side of the houses, while the open air, rain, and or other substance will probably cause serious rusty trouble to the generator.

However, is it possible for us to make our own standby generator enclosure? Why not? We all can make it by our own at home. What should you do first?

Well, the first step comes to the box that protects the generator from weather elements, thus we should select carefully what material to use. We can make a simple design made of wood that is able to elaborate to be more attractive. That wood should be strong and tough to withstand winds, hurricane, etc. Next, if you feel it’s expensive enough to get such kind of woods, you can use plywood. The plywood can be good material for the sake of simplicity as well.

After all, it’s good to make sure that your enclosure design is completely green. The green casing is our need to save the environment. And, the last one is about putting a utility exhaust fan inside. That sort of fan can be helpful enough to cool down the generator in the box. Thus, there will be no unwanted problems appear in the future.
